Dear World Tang Soo Do members and families:
Our World Championships are always special and unique events because
they give all of us in the World Tang Soo Do family the tremendous
opportunity to gather in one place and engage in friendly and spirited
competition, to make new friends (and see old friends) from all over the
world, as we celebrate our commitment and dedication to the pursuit of
our art. However, this year’s 13th World Championship is an especially momentous occasion for our organization
for two historic reasons. It is being held for the very first time in Greensboro, North Carolina – near the site of our
future World Headquarters in Burlington, North Carolina – and it marks my elevation to 9th Dan. To commemorate
this historic occasion, we will be holding a special family picnic on the actual grounds of our future headquarters. |

As always, our World Championships are a testament to our core values as an Association. While our competition
is spirited, it is the responsibility of each WTSDA member to exemplify the discipline and honor embodied by our
dedication to Tang Soo Do. To that end, we will be following the rules as written in the WTSDA Rule Book, and all
students must maintain the highest safety standards and be properly outfitted with regulation sparring gear, safety
equipment, dobohk, patches, and belt.
Because of the international nature of this event and this unique opportunity for all of us to convene as one, I
strongly encourage all WTSDA members residing outside of the United States to complete their visa preparations as
early as possible. Such processing may take more than 60 days, and in 2008, there were many applicants who began
the process too late in the year and were not able to get their applications approved in time to attend. (If you require
a formal invitation letter from the WTSDA for this process, you should contact us no later than February 28, 2010.)
Attached is all the information you will need to make preparations for joining us for this historic occasion. I very
much look forward to seeing each one of you there.

May 1st 2010 The 7th Annual Karate Masters Invitational
We are very lucky to have a number of tournament choices this year! We wanted to let you know that our next opportunity is in May for another tournament!!Attached please find the tournament application. Please look at the package to see some exciting change for competition choices and more fun activities for Little Dragons. We will communicate more logistics information as they become available.
First deadline is April 14th, final deadline is April 21st. Event date is May 1st. No registration at the door.

August 8th - Lonestar Challenge (Austin)
This will be the 2nd year of this Austin Tournament. Last year's tournament was a huge success with a turnout of over 120 participants. We were literally busting at the seams at our location last year so this year we have a new much larger location at the athletic facility for the Brentwood Christian school in north Austin.
